i'm home i'm home i'm home

i'm home! (in case the title of this post didn't tell you that already...in which case i would most definitely regard you as rather dimwitted or slow on the uptake)

checklist of things to do:
-meet lyle
-ride horse
-do laundry
-visit pk, kmpk, bk, agk

all completed!

success.

checklist related recaps:

lyle is the most precious puppy on earth. he is the opposite of max in almost every way...which is refreshingly new and interesting. i've carried him around like a baby all day-- either cradled in my arms, or on my hip (he even puts his paw/arm around my neck to hold on--sooo adorable). i. love. this. dog.

i love visiting kmpk, pk, bk, & agk (despite this visit, agk being asleep [blast!] and bk growling at me [oh well, still like that dog]). i always leave their house feeling outrageously cheerful and optimistic. i think it's thrilling that i can pop over there and we're all just chattering away with so many topics of discussion bouncing about the room nonstop--legitimately two of maybe eight people i could say i would never run out of things to talk about with. it's just fun! and i really don't care how creepy i am...and even though i creepy stalker them sometimes ... they're also some of the coolest people i've ever known (and the most precious babe i've ever seen!!!).

final note:

apologies for the general disorganizationalism within the content of my most recent blogposts...i've failed to proofread my blogging recently and pretty much just type the ramblings going on in my head (i suppose that's sort of the purpose of blogging to begin with...it begins to lose its authenticity once it becomes to revised, eh?).

trundle along now...

HOME!

surprise!!!
out of the blue my coach offered me the opportunity to go home for the weekend and, despite being conflicted (didn't want to miss my babes kick indiana and alabama's ass saturday! [or miss seeing my beloved B]), took her up on the offer and said, "yeah....i really want to go home."

i CAN NOT WAIT:
-to be back in the fax, soakin up the nova lovin' and just loving my life again (something about home does that...isnt it silly? i didnt think id be one of those kids but then i went to college and turns out im just as attached to home as everyone else is)

-to meet lyle, the precious black poodle puppy (mother & lyle are picking me up at the train station)

-to EXIST IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA (sorry if thats repetitive, but i think it needed to be said again)

[on a side note, i've been meaning to explain (initiate) something: my 310 professor, dr. lemahieu is awesome. he always goes off on these tangents in the middle of a discussion on say...the passive voice or characterization, etc. these tangents are more often than not related to his adorable four year old daughter alice (who he brought to class last week and she taught us about the alphabet) (who is obsessed with the clemson cheerleaders and wore her mini-clem cheerleader costume to teach us the alphabet last week) (who fist pumps to "party in the usa"). after several of these tangents in the first weeks of class, he finally determined that at the end of such tangents he would declare "end bracket" if it was a particularly long tangent, or "end parantheses" if it was merely a quick side note (do note the brackets come far more frequently than the parantheses), thus to "continue the flow of the class discussion." in the spirit of dr. lemahieu, and given the multiple tangents i tend to go off on within parantheses or brackets within my blog, from henceforth now-so-on, i shall declare at the end of such rambles--"end bracket/parantheses"]

end bracket.

love every moment

as i said before, love is situational, however, there is one love i have that transcends time, space, setting, and any other condition you could possibly consider.

i love the gmail fox

to precede my explanation of my love for the gmail fox, i must address a fact that few people truly understand.

gmail is the best webmail in existence. hands down. gmail chat? best chat around. far surpasses any other instant messenger, including, in some instances, even cellular text messaging.
further, gmail video chat is the best video chat in existence. always reliable, regardless of internet service, location, etc!

but the most important reason gmail is the best, is that they offer you themes for your inbox. sure, there's the standard beach scenes, and "peaceful rocks" (as S employs--nothing against peaceful rocks, dear --sorry, i was just informed the correct term is "pebbles"--), but the best gmail theme is most definitely the gmail fox or "tea house" theme.

oh, how i love my gmail fox.
at any point in the day, i can login to my inbox and see my gmail fox partaking in his various activities

for example:
lighting his lanterns
feeding his duck friends
slicing carrots
watering his bonsai tree
giving his baby duck friend a bath
rice picking (it had to happen didnt it?)
practicing karate with his bunny friends
or
tea time with mr. monkey!

....he's so unbearably adorable i can hardly take it!
he troddles about in his little rice-picker's (for lack of better term--apologies if this is offensive?), in his cute little two story house with lovely backyard and his various animal friends.

gmail fox....i love you.

look alive, people

spring break 2010.

instead of planting my happy ass in the sand in panama city (like everyone and their mom seems to be this week)

(ah, wouldnt that be nice?)

or wasting time at home
or even taking road trips to see other friends at other schools
...
i am dedicating 5-6 hours a day to time on the water or at the boathouse
rowing spring training.

the good news is it is far less miserable than winter break training (pretty much wanted to die after that week), and the weather is far more pleasant (65 yesterday afternoon--heavenly!)
aaand we've found ways to entertain ourselves

my futon has been the site of a all-afternoon cuddlefest with Kl and V where we've had "mindfuck" movie marathons to include the films: v for vendetta (awesome), memento (AWESOME), and requiem for a dream (CRAZY. WTFFF)

the bad news is...
i pretty much have no use except for like...leftover/-just-in-case-coxswain
which is frustrating. i'm not saying i am the best, but just that i am not accustomed to being second-best and being useless and not getting water time and knowing im never getting a race this season....its just upsetting watching all my friends have their sense of unity as a boat and getting excited about upcoming races and ...not getting to be part of that.

i just want a weekend home to get away from all things rowing and then i'd be good to go and handle the upsettness... :/
but alas, i don't get to return home until may...sigh.

i love this

spent two hours in focused thought
after weeks of oblique thought.

i'm writing.

3.05.2010

say aahhh

i had a great birthday

(people remembered it)

V prescribed me cranberry and vodka before class
Am brought me home a huge balloon and blow-pops
B treated me to lunch at olive garden
the team sang me happy birthday at the team pasta party (first race tomorrow)
Srh made me a delicious cake with skittles on top!
B, Mr, and Jz brought over ice cream cake and we powwowwed in my bedroom and ate it out of the box and B presented me with my gift which was basically a huge collage of inside jokes and our friendship and it. was. awesome.

as of 5 minutes ago (10:50pm) i am officially 19 years old.

19 is such an inconsequential age....absolutely nothing happens when you are 19.
but i'll try to make it a better year than 17 or 18 were :)

ps: S will arrive in 6 hours and 40 minutes.
i. can't. wait.

how do i see thee, patrick?

patrick wilson...what a cutie right?

well i'm watching phantom of the opera with Am right now and the patrick wilson/emmy rossum respective character romance is delightful, but after seeing the film hard candy, i have trouble looking at patrick wilson and not being a little creeped out. i guess he played such a convincing pedophile in hard candy that it's hard to envision him as anything else? not sure why. just a thought! :)

pedophile being owneeddd by ellen page?

or adorable raoul fighting the phantom for christine's love???
